A mother is urgently searching for her six-year-old daughter, who she believes has been abducted by her employer.
Eva Tembo, just six years old, had allegedly been kidnapped by Carlos Rebelo.
Her mother, Laura Nkhana, has been in his employee for several years.
Missing children reports and flyers have been doing the rounds on social media, as Nkhana frantically searches for her daughter.
Nkhana explains that she and her daughter had been living with Rebelo in Kensington in Johannesburg, since Eva’s birth, and that she had never taken her daughter to her own home.
The alleged abduction followed a disagreement between Nkhana and Rebelo when she’d asked to take Eva home for the holidays, a request that reportedly angered Rebelo.
She’d planned to take her daughter to Malawi.
Nkhana claims that Rebelo had fled with Eva on the 1st of July.
It’s believed that Rebelo and Eva, were last seen here in Cape Town last week.
Desperate to reunite with her child, Nkhana is pleading with the public for assistance in locating Eva.
Missing Children South Africa has confirmed that the search for six-year-old Eva Tembo is still ongoing.
Bianca van Aswegen, criminologist and National Coordinator for Missing Children SA, says they are collaborating closely with the police in the effort to find Eva.
