Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier says he’s troubled by the actions of some learners at Heathfield High School.
On Tuesday a group of pupils clashed with law enforcement officers following search operations.
Officers seized several dangerous weapons such as knives and confiscated drugs.
Maynier says gang-related incidents at school have a history.
“More concerning was that two males, who are not enrolled in the school, had attempted to enter the school premises dressed in Heathfield High’s school uniform. The two males were apprehended for trespassing. Additionally, one male was arrested for drug possession”.
