Preparations are underway to help fire victims in Cape Town.
Scores of people are homeless, after their shacks were destroyed by fires, in recent days.
The provision of building kits,is controlled by the national Human Settlements department, not municipalities.
The department says it’s in the process of helping affected residents.
But it won’t be pressed on a timeline.
With the fire season in full effect the department’s Tsekiso Macheke, says preparations are underway to deal with potential weather-related incidents during this period.
