With the fire season underway in the Western Cape, aid organisation Gift of the Givers says it’s ready to provide humanitarian relief to those who would be impacted.
The aid group already had a busy weekend, assisting hundreds of fire victims across Cape Town.
At least three separate shack fire incidents were reported over the weekend.
In Samora Machel, 235 people were left homeless after more than 80 shacks were destroyed by a blaze on Saturday.
