Two Malawian foreign nationals are behind bars following public violence which erupted in Franschhoek on Sunday.
It’s understood that approximately 150 disgruntled community members looted a local shop there completely.
The owner of the shop then disarmed one of the men and fled the scene with another man in a car, shooting at the angry crowd.
Police spokesperson Joseph Swaartbooi says the duo is expected to appear in the Paarl Magistrate court once charged.
