Airports Company South Africa – ACSA – says flights have landed at Cape Town International Airport this morning, following power outages experienced at the airport on Sunday.
ACSA confirmed that the runway lights and navigation aids were restored at 01h00 on Monday.
Since then, 11 aircraft landed safely.
The airports company says the power supply issue impacted the runway lights, airside fire rescue and air traffic navigation services.
As a result, flights were not able to land or depart the airport.
ACSA spokesperson Ernest Mulibana says the work is still underway to fully restore the network.
