Parow ward councillor, Roger Cannon says the tenants of a building, damaged by a deadly fire this week, can’t be accommodated at a government facility.

A five year old, had died in the blaze that happened on Monday.

While HeartFM News visited the group, on Friday, they told our reporter that the landlord has not been transparent about alternative accommodation options.

Several people, including children, are now living on the pavement outside the building.

Cannon says unfortunately it’s the landlord’s responsibility to provide accommodation.

He adds that the number of destitute people has dwindled over the past few days.
