A Mossel Bay family is appealing to the public for help to repatriate the body of their daughter, who died in China.
Lusanda Sixaxeni died in Beijing last week, where she worked as an English teacher.
The family needs around R400 000 for the repatriation process.
But family spokesperson, Prince Nconcobela, says they do not have the money.
“I’d like to appeal to all South Africans because Lusanda’s father is a pensioner and the mother as well, she’s also a pensioner. We would like to call to all South Africans who can contribute or donate any money – they can do so.”
The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) says they do not have a budget to help families bring back the remains of their loved ones, who die abroad.
DIRCO’s Clayson Monyela says they hope the family will get help.
