An investigation is underway after three family members, including a young girl, were found dead in Kuils River.
The trio was allegedly shot and killed at a house in Old Nooiensfontein Road, on Sunday.
The police’s Joseph Swartbooi says the motive for the attack is still unclear at this stage.
“Upon arrival on the crime scene, they found a male aged 48, a female aged 44, and a girl aged 15 – who sustained gunshot wounds to their bodies. The trio were declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. Kuils River police are investigating two counts of murder and an inquest. ”
There is speculation that suggests the man killed the woman and girl before turning the gun on himself.
However, Western Cape Community Safety and Police Oversight MEC, Reagan Allen, has urged people not to feed into speculation, and instead assist police with accurate information.
“The circumstances around the shooting is currently being investigated. I’d like to request that there be no speculation around the incident but instead allow SAPS to establish the facts so that the investigation can be finalised. I urged anyone with information to contact SAPS.”
