The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management teams are on standby ahead of warnings of disruptive weather conditions on Wednesday.
The South African Weather Services advised that disruptive winds and rainfall are expected over the peninsula and surrounds.
According to Disaster Management spokesperson, Charlotte Powell, teams are bracing themselves for possible weather-related issues.
“The City’s Disaster Risk Management Centre and related City departments and external role players are on standby, in the event of any localized flooding or other weather-related impacts that may occur. Residents are reminded that life-threatening emergency incidents should be directed to the City’s Public Emergency Communication Centre by dialling 021 480 7700 from a cellphone or 107 from a landline”.
