A trial date has been set in the Joshlin Smith matter.
The three accused—Steveno van Ryhn, Jacquen Apollis, and the child’s mother, Kelly Smith—appeared in court this morning for their pre-trial hearing.
Onesisa Khalipha is there and files this report.
The trial of the three accused in little Joshlin’s disappearance is set to begin on the 3rd of March.
Judge Nathan Erasmus has ruled that the trial will run daily from Monday to Friday until the 28th of March.
Next week, the accused will attend consultations at the Western Cape High Court before being transferred to the Malmesbury Correctional Facility next Friday.
Court proceedings will take place at the Saldanha Bay Multipurpose Centre to allow the community to attend.
The judge has confirmed that the venue has been inspected with safety considerations in mind.
He has also imposed strict regulations on media coverage, including limitations on filming and recording.
Meanwhile the National Prosecuting Authority’s Eric Ntabazalila has confirmed the search of the little girl is still ongoing.
