Cape Town Tourism has suspended the membership of the company that organised a soccer trip to Spain.
BT Travel is a member of the tourism and investment promotion agency.
It’s classified as an in-tour operator.
This means it should only host visitors to the Mother City.
BT has been a member of the agency since 2023.
A group of children and their coaches were left stranded for days in Portugal, after the company failed to secure return flight tickets.
Cape Town Tourism CEO, Enver Duminy, says they’re very concerned about the incident.
Duminy says it’s still too early to confirm when the probe will be finalised.
