The Western Cape Police Management and residents of the Seawinds and Hillview areas will meet on Tuesday following a spate of deadly shootings.
The meeting comes after five people were shot dead in various incidents on Saturday.
Local authorities suspect that the shootings could be gang-related.
The Muizenberg Community Policing Forum says the first shootings were reported on Friday evening.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, three young people, including a woman were killed in Hillview.
Later that same day, a 15-year-old boy and a 47-year-old man were killed in Seawinds and Hillview, respectively.
The Forum’s Ashwin Abrahams says following the deployment of police, the situation has calmed down.
“Things have calmed down. There have not been shootings that took place since Sunday. The SAPS and CPF members visited a community meeting, where we addressed the community as to what SAPS plans to do and want the community to come forward [and share any information ]”.
Authorities say no one has been arrested in connection with the series of shootings.
