The City of Cape Town has raised concern about illegal structures being built on critical water and sanitation infrastructure sites, saying they’re causing serious delays in repair work.
This follows recurring sewer blockages in Nomzamo, which the City had, earlier this year, announced it would fix.
But, months later, the problem has worsened, leaving residents increasingly frustrated.
The City’s Zahied Badroodien, has told Heart FM News that the residents are to blame.
He says criminality is adding fuel to the fire.
