
Western Cape Police Detectives have launched a manhunt for suspects after four people, including three children, were shot and killed in Khayelitsha.
The deceased were found in Site C on Saturday.
It’s understood that unknown gunmen entered a barber shop and opened fire on the occupants.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Andrè Traut, says the motive for the attack is yet to be determined.
“ On Saturday 08 June 2024 at around 16:00 unknown gunmen entered a barber shop and opened fire at the occupants of the premises. Two children aged 11 and 12 and an adult aged 30 were killed on the scene while three children were admitted to hospital. The 5-year-old later succumbed to death due to his injuries. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be apprehended”.
