Swift police action has resulted in the arrest of a man who allegedly killed a child in Bishop Lavis, Cape Town.
The 5-year-old boy was stabbed at a house in Sky Road on Wednesday.
The police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says the child was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The suspect is said to be mentally challenged.
The man in his 40s, allegedly stabbed the boy three times. He is set to appear in court soon.
The Bishop Lavis Community Policing Forum’s Graham Lindhorst says while details are still sketchy, the incident is disturbing.
