Western Cape taxi associations, Cata and Codeta have rejected reports that they’ll hold a strike on Thursday.

There’s a media statement purported to be released by the two associations.

It states that their members will be marching to the office of Premier Alan Winde.

Taxi operators affiliated with Santaco, held a two-day shutdown on Monday and Tuesday, where they demanded that the incentive programme Blue Dot Pilot to be extended.

Cata spokesperson Nkululeko Sityebi says their taxis will be available Thursday.

“ Our taxis will be operating as normal. If there’s another strike to take place, our mother body, Santaco,  will inform us. There’s no strike on Thursday, that’s fake news, and those people sharing such information want to portray the taxi industry as dirty”.
