Police have made a breakthrough in the case of murdered magistrate, Romay Van Rooyen.

An 18-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the crime on Tuesday.

This is after the 51-year-old magistrate was found dead in her Marina Da Gama home near Muizenberg earlier this month.

Around that time, her vehicle was found in Mitchells Plain.

And according to The Hawks spokesperson, Katlego Mogale, is where the suspect was found:

“The suspect was traced and arrested at his home in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, in a multidisciplinary operation comprising of the Hawks. The suspect was identified following the discovery of the body of the 50-year-old Vredenburg magistrate.”
