The ongoing kidnappings in Cape Town have left several Bangladeshi business owners fearing for their safety.

The Bangladeshi community is known for running small businesses in various communities.

But the recent kidnapping of Akter Pradhan in Mitchells Plain last week has left many questioning whether they should close their businesses out of fear of being targeted as well.

Now, a R20 million ransom has been demanded for Pradhan’s release.

One business owner Azam Khan says he’s scared.
