Another Bangladeshi business owner has been kidnapped in Cape Town.

The 37-year-old man, Akter Pradhan, was abducted in Mitchells Plain on Friday.

Footage circulating on social media — allegedly capturing the incident as it took place — shows a scuffle involving three men in the back seat of a vehicle.

There’s been a spate of kidnappings of Bangladeshi business people reported in Cape Town in recent months

Last month, a Kensington shop owner was snatched at his store.

He was found unharmed in Khayelitsha a few days later.

The police’s Joseph Swartbooi says no arrests have been made in connection with Friday’s incident.

“Three unknown armed males, stopped his vehicle. When the victim got out of his vehicle, the suspects forced him into their vehicle and fled the scene in an undisclosed direction. The unknown suspects are yet to be arrested. We can confirm that no shots was fired. Mitchells Plain police are investigating a case of kidnapping and extortion.”
