The future of the baboon population along the Cape Peninsula hangs in the balance.

There’ve been proposals to remove the 120 baboon troops found along the False Bay coast.

These primates have moved into urban areas as spaces in the wild have become harsher for them to live.

Lynda Silk from the Cape Peninsula Civil Conservation believes moving the baboons to remote sanctuaries won’t work.

Neither would proposals to have them all euthanised…
