Judgement will be handed down on the 17th of September, in a Mitchells Plain child murder case.

Cameron Julius and Chadwin Williams have been standing trial in the Western Cape High Court, for the December 2019 murder of 10 year old Ayesha Kelly.

The child had been sent to a shop close to her home in Tafelsig, when suspected gangsters opened fire.

But they’d allegedly missed the rival gangster they’d been targeting, and fatally wounded the little girl, instead.

The State and Defence concluded their closing arguments yesterday.

Shamiela Fisher has been following the trial and filed this report.

In another child murder trial…

Eben Basson and Chivargo Fredericks have gone on trial in the Western Cape High Court, for the 2020 murder of 7 year old Emaan Solomons.

They’d also allegedly targeted a rival gangster, when the little girl had been caught in the crossfire, while she was playing in front of her family home.

The trial continues today with an in loco inspection of the crime scene, in Ocean View.
