Tiger Brands says it is committed to finding a suitable buyer for the Langeberg and Ashton Foods plant, to ensure the company remains open.
The organisation has agreed that the operations will continue for the next twelve months.
This means 250 permanent employees and 4 300 seasonal workers will keep their jobs for another season.
Tiger Brands says a number of parties expressed interest to hold further talks on the possible acquisition of the company, over the past weeks.
No decision has been reached.
CEO Noel Doyle said, “We will continue to explore all options available to the company and engage with interested parties on a solution that could provide for the continuation of a sustainable deciduous fruit processing operation beyond the 2022/2023 season”.
