Another young woman was reportedly gunned down in Delft, just days before 15-year-old Aqeelah Shroeder was killed.
That means a total of three women were shot in the area within six days.
According to community activist, Farida Ryklief, the woman was gunned down in her home:
“ Leigh Ann Bailey was shot on Sunday the 14th of August in a house not far from the crime scene where 15-year-old Aqeelah Shroeder was killed. Three women have been in the past week”.
Meanwhile, the police spokesperson Captain Frederick FC Van Wyk confirmed an arrest in one of these cases.
“We can confirm that22-year-old suspect has been arrested for the murder of 15-year-old Aqeelah Shroeder. He appeared in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday the 15th of August. The investigation continues”.
