Police have confirmed that another young girl has been shot in Delft.
The 13-year-old victim was shot on the corners of Roosendaal Avenue and Delft Main Road on Friday afternoon.
This comes just three days after a similar incident in Delft, where 15-year-old Aqeelah Shroeder was shot — and later died.
No arrest has been made for her murder.
The police are now investigating an attempted murder in the matter of the 13-year-old victim.
According to the police’s Joseph Swartbooi, the motive for the recent attack is unknown.
“Upon arrival at the scene… [police] found the injured victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to her body. The 13-year-old victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The unknown suspects – who fled the scene – are yet to be arrested. Delft police are investigating a case of attempted murder. Anyone with information are urged to call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
