A call has been made for the South African Human Rights Commissioner to intervene in the protests in Dunoon.
Residents from the Zwezwe informal settlement have taken to the streets after the City of Cape Town allegedly demolished structures that people lived in.
The city has denied that it destroyed people’s homes and claims to have followed a court order.
The ANC in the Western Cape has now intervened.
Provincial spokesperson Khalid Sayed is calling for the HRC to probe the matter.
