The man who allegedly killed veterinarian Dr Natheem Jacobs in Athlone, has appeared in court.

Jovan Williams was nabbed at the start of the week and appeared in the Athlone Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The case has been remanded until the 7th of June 2023 for bail information.

Jacobs was stabbed at his home in March 2023 and later died.

Meanwhile, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA’S Belinda Abraham has welcomed the arrest.

She says his loss is felt at the SPCA daily.

“Dr Natheem Jacobs’ legacy will forever be part of the work that we do at Cape of Good Hope SPCA Animals Hospital. We remain committed to honouring his legacy by continuing to provide exceptional care for animals in need. Our thoughts are with the Jacobs and Levy families, and we hope that the arrest brings with it a small measure of comfort for them”.
