The man accused of murdering 13-year-old Jerobiojin van Wyk, from Klawer, will remain at the Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital.

53-year-old Daniel Smit returned to the local magistrate’s court on Monday.

The court was expected to hear an assessment report about his mental state after he was referred to the facility last month.

However, it was agreed that he must get a bed at the Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital, and undergo further observation.

The case will resume on the 21st of June.

Smit is accused of killing the teenager, after Jerobiojin’s body was found on his property in the West Coast town in February.
