Two more suspects have been added as co-accused in the case against the man described as a feared Khayelitsha gang boss.

Yanga Nyalara made another appearance in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

He’s facing 18 counts of murder, five counts of attempted murder and charges for several other crimes.

Twelve of the murder charges and four of the attempted murder charges are now shared with Wandile Tofile.

Those include charges relating to a shooting incident that took place in Site B, Khayelitsha, last year.

The remaining six murder charges and one attempted murder charge are shared with Manelisi Ngumla.

Those refer to a similar incident that occurred in Site C, Khayelitsha, in May this year.

The NPA’s Eric Ntabazalila says the accused have abandoned bail and will be back in court in October.

“Senior State Advocate, Mervyn Menigo, requested a postponement, as there were extensive investigations and forensic reports that were still outstanding. The defense agreed to this request, and the case was postponed to the fourth of October 2022.”
