A Strandfontein husband and father is lucky to be alive.
He’d escaped with minor burns and smoke inhalation, after his home on the corner of Spine and Gate Green Roads caught alight in the early hours of Monday morning..
But, Gary September lost his wife Ruth and their 17-year-old daughter, Kirsten, in that fire,
He’s just been released from hospital.
September tells Heart FM News that he tried everything to save his family.
The couple’s eldest daughter also managed to escape.
Meanwhile, a memorial service will be held for Ruth and Kirsten this evening.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, as a forensic investigation is still underway.
